200 AMP Electrical Panel Upgrade in Denver
Project Description
"I called GTC Electrical to help with a Panel upgrade to a 200 amp for my home."
A homeowner called us for some help with upgrading their current 100 amp panel. It is not possible to upgrade from 100 amps to 200 amps simply by replacing your breaker panel. To upgrade to 200 amps from a smaller service, you will need a new breaker panel, circuit breakers, meter socket, service conductors, grounding electrodes and bonding conductors.
A 200 amp panel allows more circuits to be connected, and the cost difference between a 100 amp and 200 amp service is negligible. If you’re planning a home remodel involving significant electrical work, a 200 amp service is usually the best option.
GTC Electrical Panel Upgrade
A 100 amp panel can meet the electrical needs of a small or medium-sized property (less than 2,500 square feet) with central air conditioning, gas heating, and several standard appliances. However, this client was planning a an addition to their home, so it was a good time to consider upgrading their panel to get more power. So, we upgraded this homeowners panel from a 100 to 200 amp. They can rest assured they will have enough power for their addition in the future.
